The Original AFO Assist promotes independent donning of an ankle foot orthosis (AFO) and shoe. The AFO Cradle hold the ankle foot orthosis in a stable, upright position leaving the hands free to lift the affected leg and place the foot into the AFO brace. The Shoe Platform holds the shoe at an appropriate angle allowing the user to easily slide the foot into the shoe. The free Foot Funnel is placed onto the heel of the shoe to keep the back of the shoe from collapsing during the donning process. The Orignal AFO Assist was created by an Occupational Therapist to help individuals step back into life.
